Group Objects

In the dLibra system, a group object is used to combine (group) related publications. A group object does not have files with content because its only function is to group related items. The structure of a group publication (group object) is hierarchical (a group publication may contain publications and group publications), so related resources can be organized on many levels. For example, a group publication can be a multi-volume publication, with particular volumes being single publications. Another example could be a newspaper with resources distributed among many levels, for example, with a group publication called Daily containing group publications for particular annual set (1950, 1951, etc.), where each annual set is divided into group publications for months (January, February...), and with those months finally divided into single publications representing particular numbers of Daily.
