3.2. Access to Poznan

The most convenient means of transport that allow you to reach Poznan is plane or car. Poznan “Lawica” Airport is located 7 km from the city centre, in the vicinity of the route leading directly to the major city points.  The airport has frequent daily connections with Warsaw, Copenhagen, Frankfurt/Main and Munich. You can also get to Poznan driving A2 motorway (a toll is paid by cash or by credit card), national routes no. 92, no. 5 (east - west direction) and no. 11 (north - south). You can also choose train connection from Warsaw or Berlin. See also this >page< for details

3.3. Getting to the CBPIO

To reach the meeting venue you can enjoy a walk (if you choose a hotel in the walking distance) or take a tram. The CBPIO is located just between two tram stops “Baraniaka” and “Rondo Srodka” (lines 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 17).  In the CBPIO, you will be guided to the meeting venue by the signs.   See >here< for details

3.4. TRANSPORT

Comparing to other European cities taxis in Poznan are relatively cheap. Wherever you go within city, you should pay less than 10EUR. It's a good idea to get fare estimate before you start the ride so you don't pay more than expected price.

UBER is not so popular, but you can also try to use this means of transport.

You can use also a public transport (see details >here<

3.5. PSNC security rules

The entrance to the main part of the CPBIO building is restricted. The Code Camp participants can access the main hall and conference rooms only. The conference area will be accessible for the Code Camp participants from 9:00 am till 6:00 pm. You will be asked to have a budge (will be provided by organizers) and to sign a list everyday when arriving to venue.

3.10. Poznań after hours

After hours of exhaustive work, you can enjoy Poznan by night. The Old Town, with its hundreds of restaurants, clubs and pubs placed in small, narrow streets surrounding The Old Market Square, is the best place to experience the nightlife.

Huge area of The Malta Lake Park, located just near the CBPIO is a nice place not only for walking or jogging but you can also find there an aqua park “Termy Maltańskie”  (that aspires to be the biggest in PL, see >www< ) that offers you swimming pools, slides, jacuzzis, saunas, etc…   Many attractions are also offered by the MaltaSki: a ski dry slope, alpine coaster and other (see >www<  )   Another interesting place to visit is the ZOO (see >www< . Both Termy Maltanskie and ZOO can be reached by a lovely kids-train (Kolej Maltanka >link< ) with a train station very close to CPBIO.

Nearby CBPIO, within the walking distance, there is Ostrów Tumski (The Cathedral Island), the cradle of the Polish state - site of fortified settlement established by Poland’s first known ruler, Duke Mieszko I. Another historical site worth seeing is the Cathedral with the tombs of the first Polish rulers and Porta Posnania, a modern interactive exhibition on the origins of Poland  >link<
