Methods of Presenting Objects

In the dLibra system, digital objects are stored in the original, digital form entered by the editor. The basic scenario of a presentation involves the mechanisms of Internet browsers based on the HTML standard. Most popular multimedia formats will be presented in Internet browsers without any problems, and one does not have to worry about additional extensions. The user can also download files in their original form or choose a special extension for presentations – if there is an extension for the given format. For downloading media files, the user needs to have appropriate software for the given file format.

Presenting High-Quality Images (IMF)

From version 6..1.0 of the dLibra system on, there is a possibility of presenting high-quality images (pyramidal TIFFs), with the use of solutions based on IMF. The Universal Viewer project is used for presenting such files. For more information about that standard, see section Supplement D: Configuring IMF files.

Protected Digital Objects

In the dLibra system, digital content can be protected against copying, printing, etc. Currently, the dLibra system makes it possible to protect:

• PDF files – before being sent to a user, the file is protected with the use of a password configured in the system, which makes it impossible to print or copy the content of the file (if the displaying program respects such protection).

The mechanism for protecting files in the PDF format has a number of additional options which can be set in the Reader Application of the dLibra system.

Sposoby prezentacji obiektów

Obiekty cyfrowe w systemie dLibra przechowywane są w oryginalnej postaci cyfrowej wprowadzonej przez redaktora. W podstawowym scenariuszu prezentacji wykorzystywane są mechanizmy przeglądarek internetowych opartych na standardzie HTML. Przeglądarki internetowe bez problemów prezentują większość popularnych formatów multimedialnych i nie trzeba się przejmować dodatkowymi rozszerzeniami. Użytkownik ma także możliwość pobrania plików w oryginalnej postaci lub wybrania specjalnego rozszerzenia do prezentacji, jeśli takie dla danego formatu jest udostępnione. W przypadku pobrania plików multimedialnych niezbędne jest posiadanie zainstalowanego oprogramowania otwierającego dany format plików.

Prezentowanie obrazów wysokiej jakości (IIIF)

Od wersji 6.1.0 systemu dLibra istnieje możliwość prezentowania obrazów wysokiej jakości (tiff piramidalny) za pomocą rozwiązań opartych o IIIF. Zabezpieczone obiekty cyfrowe

W systemie dLibra możliwe jest zabezpieczanie treści cyfrowych przed ich kopiowaniem, drukowaniem, itp. Aktualnie w systemie dLibra możliwe jest zabezpieczanie publikacji:

• PDF - przed przesłaniem pliku użytkownikowi jest on zabezpieczany skonfigurowanym w systemie hasłem, które uniemożliwia drukowanie i kopiowanie treści (o ile takie zabezpieczenia respektuje program wyświetlający).

Opcje zabezpieczania plików PDF

Mechanizm zabezpieczania plików PDF posiada szereg dodatkowych opcji, które można ustawić w Aplikacji Czytelnika systemu dLibra.
