Your regular user interface for using the notebooks is provided by the Lupyter Lab component. However, in case you need to manage your virtual environment from the outside, you can use the Hub Control Panel.
Opening the Panel
There are two ways to reach your Hub Control Panel:
- In your integrated user environment, select the menu item File → Hub Control Panel.
- Go directly to the control panel URL of your selected Hub (using suffix
/hub/home
)
Using the Panel
The panel can be in two states. Firstly, if your notebooks server is already running, it offers two actions:
- The
Stop My Server
button stops your running server (you can only have one in the hub) - The
My Server
button opens a new tab in your browser, showing your integrated user environment with your notebooks.
Secondly, if you have no servers running in the hub, there's only one button:
Clicking that brings you to server size selection, and then you can continue starting a server of a different (or the same) size from what you were using previously.
This is the easiest way to restart your server, either to resolve issues you may have with your running server, or to switch to using a different server size.
Logging Out/In
The preferred way of authenticating to EOSC EU Node services is going through the FO Portal, however, should the need arise, you may also log out and back in using the link in the top right corner of the Hub Control Panel:
You can use that link to log out and back in, respectively, e.g., if you have been given some additional entitlements while you were working, and you want them to take effect.
